Acceptance: Hatred and therefore

An interesting theory stuck in my mind about hatred, disrespect and acceptance. Analyzing the disrespect and hatred that people of society have for the so called lower class people and professions, and certain lifestyles, it turns out that it has its reason.

That immense feeling of dislike doesn’t arrive just from name, but by observation and interaction. People tend to hate people when they have a contrasting beliefs, or lifestyle; when one has to compromise. When other people don’t sync with their environment.

For most complain them to be dirty, or too foolish, or that they don’t have clean habits, or they don’t know how to behave, or their mentality is cheap.  They simply don’t hate them, but they define their behaviors. When certain annoying behaviors of individuals with similar characteristics compile and become generalized, the stereotype is created, that people hate.

If you ask a person who hates those, you will know that, each one of them have had history of some kind of multiple interactions with individuals which they generalize. Minorities, prostitutes, poor, lower castes, LGBT, drug addicts, labors, post-prisoners are the ones struggling in the society. They certainly shouldn’t be hated, but hatred is a feeling and cannot be enforced.

I believe they couldn’t be hated if they knew how not be hated. If all of them were knowledgeable and wise, and had capabilities to make people hear them and explain their story. If all acted disciplined. If they were all patient and reasonable. If they all stayed clean and had healthy habits, if they all had a better quality of life. Who could have hated them then? Society would have gladly accepted them. Or it wouldn’t even matter to them then, for they could sustain on their own.

Obviously knowledge is vital. My main point is that if insight could be given to them that healthy habits, discipline and logical reasoning, activeness and leadership, and participation always works for their favor, and rudeness and stubbornness or passiveness is not going to work for them, if they knew how not to be hated, their fights for rights and acceptance would have an extra boost. They should rise before they could rise. For we all have seen how prostitutes and pornography stars turning into authors, or LGBT community involving into acting and glamour have helped uplift their society.
