Learning without killing innovation

I have a hypothesis. And it goes -

"While trying to accomplish something, learning how to do things step by step kills creativity and innovation. On the other hand, learning what not to do, helps accomplishing while fostering new methods."

And hence I pledge - if you seek innovation, do not follow step by step. Rather simply focus on specific outcomes and common mistakes to avoid.

Now that I have put out main thing I wanted to say, lets dive in to why I feel so.

Learning to cook

I initially tried cooking - exactly the way it was supposed to be, step by step. But it didn't feel like cooking. It felt like I was just a kitchenhand doing what I was told. I wanted to get creative. But I failed miserably. The cooking is a creative art and I had done that with zero creativity. Hence, I learned the science of it.

I learned about the flavors and spices properties and behaviour, how temperature and pressure applied in cooking, and learned the basics of baking, mixing, pan frying, stir frying and deep frying. I also learned about how the cooking pot makes a difference; and how not to overcook.

With these information, I have now been able to get a twist here and there while cooking, without making the food taste miserable.

Disclaimer: I still fail cooking at times, and I am not a great cook either. But I am more satisfied with the foods I cook now.

Exploring new venture

Recenctly, as a side hustle, I wanted to try out as a ridesharing driver, Uber and more. I did not have contacts who had done this before, hence I proceeded on my own, to this unfamiliar territory.

Had I known someone to follow, I would had followed the footsteps. But since I ventured on my own, I am exploring and finding new things now. I have discovered secret areas and times where I find more riders and have less competition; rather than going where the app wants me to go.

And having to explore the venture rather than following the footsteps has allowed me to feel more like an enthusiastic adventurer rather than an overmanaged apprentice.

I have come to believe that, having that freedom of getting creative, makes the learning journey more fun, worthwhile and one can accomplish more on the long run over someone who just followed steps by steps, never looked out of the box and never risked getting wrong.

My take on life - A short verse

What diversity in people you wonder?
Everyone is just skin and bones, fat and thin,
with dreams and regrets, love and ponder.
Little sadness, little numbness and few glory it holds,
while the dilemma to fly beyond yonder,
or choose small pleasures, takes its toll.

Forced to hypocrisy

Hypocrites are abundant. And maybe most of us possess that quality to some extent. Everyone hates hypocrisy and hypocrisy is indeed worthy of hatred. But still most of us have acted hypocritical at some point of time. Why? Apart from posing to be the special one, perhaps social pressure also forces hypocrisy.

When the beliefs do not match the popular culture, people are forced to hypocrisy to be a part of social circle, or just not to be stereotyped. Being the victim of the mainstream, specially the youths who were never pushed or encouraged to ditch the main road if they had problem, and choose the sideways.

Fake smile because you wouldn’t like to appear sad. When atheism is a sin for your relatives. Not being a novel reader means being stereotyped dumb bitch. Watching unconventional movies make you a psychopath. Loving Justin Bieber makes you stupid. When being homosexual leads to humiliation and punishment. Not being in relationship is a matter of shame. When confessing sexual interest would make you a pervert. When housemaid is a profession too shameful for your mother’s occupation. Your father’s income is so high that you fear others would prey on you. When drinking alcohol makes you a bad person. When not drinking alcohol makes you uncool. When not having a thing for music makes you weird. When loving lone time makes you a loner. When living together without marriage is not accepted. When you cannot afford a smartphone. When straightforward answer might land you to problems, and honesty might not be the best policy to get job. When hypocrisy is all you need to succeed, lying and faking becomes your best weapon.

If one has to lie to the society to be a part of the society, then something is terribly wrong with the society. Social pressure, that force people to hypocrisy, sometimes a must for survival is something that one needs to come up boldly and face it instead of hiding under hypocrisy. I would like to appeal all the square-heads on the round hole, to step up from the hypocrisy and confidently live a free life, and appeal the society to be willing to respectfully accept the uniqueness of the world.

Personally I feel very pessimistic that fake smiles, treasons and pretenders are ever going to go extinct, but the blame is not just on them. Hypocrisy never ends.

Don't be bored. Plan.

One of the most common term herd is, “I am bored.” Well, I am not sure if they mean it at all, but if they mean it, they are living wrong.

I don’t understand how people get bored. Life has so much of different types of experiences. I believe in pursuing or planning. You cannot be bored, if you are pursuing something you want. And if you are not pursuing, simply plan the simple plan.

Even simply listing the bucket list would take much time. Making plans on how to achieve those dreams is something I seek time for. And feeling bored, is perfect time to start planning.

The long term plans, the short term plans, the weekend plan, the holiday plan, the master plan, the five years plan. The long term achievements to achieve. Achievements to earn this year, and this month. Apart from pursuit, planning to work on it requires much time. And with all these pursuit and planning, how much time do you have to get bored.

So, here’s a piece of suggestion. If you feel bored, either in a group, or alone, stuck in between something boring, start planning the plan to never get bored again.

Know the liberals

It’s amazing how a simple idea, belief or code of ethics can change your perception and priorities, and life in a whole.

Believing in the birthright to do anything, is believing in freedom.

But not harm others. That's pacifism.

That belief of birthright to freedom means right to question everything, including the powers hold by the authority and government. Challenging those power would be anarchism.

But one needs to operate on logic.

Its just being logical to feel the importance of law, and therefore support governance.

Its logic that makes fallacies visible. The fallacies in religion compels atheism.

And its pure logic, and belief in freedom, that dictates that government does not, and should not possess the authority to prevent one adult from committing actions that would hurt no one else. That means supporting LGBT community, Drugs use, right to self-harm, suicide and euthanasia.

Reasoning and logic makes one empathetic. Empathy results to humanism. Animal rights, feminism, love for democracy are the aftermath. So is thirst for justice, which might not always be compulsorily as defined by the law.

But the reasoning also results to realism. It means to accept the world as is now and volunteer for gradual pacifistic development rather than violent revolution. And therefore the idea of pure communism would't make sense.  Nor the idea of monopoly, but the belief in existence of a balanced market system and economics.

Acceptance is to respect the idea of others and right to not think about the undesirables, as long as it’s not negatively affecting anyone. Therefore the respect to idea of theism and agnosticism.

And it’s such realizations and realism that awakens and makes one understand the self-interest and emotions; and the possibilities of negativism like crime, treason, betrayal, violence, racism and more.

Therefore we seek effective governance, and bureaucratic excellence that would privilege people by not letting such negativism in the society, but allowing the birthrights, the freedom and liberty. Guess that's my idea of liberalism!

Acceptance: Hatred and therefore

An interesting theory stuck in my mind about hatred, disrespect and acceptance. Analyzing the disrespect and hatred that people of society have for the so called lower class people and professions, and certain lifestyles, it turns out that it has its reason.

That immense feeling of dislike doesn’t arrive just from name, but by observation and interaction. People tend to hate people when they have a contrasting beliefs, or lifestyle; when one has to compromise. When other people don’t sync with their environment.

For most complain them to be dirty, or too foolish, or that they don’t have clean habits, or they don’t know how to behave, or their mentality is cheap.  They simply don’t hate them, but they define their behaviors. When certain annoying behaviors of individuals with similar characteristics compile and become generalized, the stereotype is created, that people hate.

If you ask a person who hates those, you will know that, each one of them have had history of some kind of multiple interactions with individuals which they generalize. Minorities, prostitutes, poor, lower castes, LGBT, drug addicts, labors, post-prisoners are the ones struggling in the society. They certainly shouldn’t be hated, but hatred is a feeling and cannot be enforced.

I believe they couldn’t be hated if they knew how not be hated. If all of them were knowledgeable and wise, and had capabilities to make people hear them and explain their story. If all acted disciplined. If they were all patient and reasonable. If they all stayed clean and had healthy habits, if they all had a better quality of life. Who could have hated them then? Society would have gladly accepted them. Or it wouldn’t even matter to them then, for they could sustain on their own.

Obviously knowledge is vital. My main point is that if insight could be given to them that healthy habits, discipline and logical reasoning, activeness and leadership, and participation always works for their favor, and rudeness and stubbornness or passiveness is not going to work for them, if they knew how not to be hated, their fights for rights and acceptance would have an extra boost. They should rise before they could rise. For we all have seen how prostitutes and pornography stars turning into authors, or LGBT community involving into acting and glamour have helped uplift their society.

World Unity for global fluidity

“Imagine there’s no country. It isn't hard to do.” Beatles

I dream of a time when world is a one. When every race are found in every country and every country are filled with natives of other countries, the government would be similar nature, and such the law and governance. And that is when, the borders become superfluous, nationalists wouldn't exist, and nation simply would become the thing of paper.  Where one would have freedom to choose their own country, their favorite constitution to live in. Common world, common language, common dreams. The world where no longer one country fights other, but is instead dedicated to prolonged development and prosperity of the mankind. And animals as well.

The life would be heavenly. That would thrust globalization, development, world unity, peace and harmony. The paradox is, that globalization, development, world unity, peace and harmony would already be required for that.

For that dream to come true, a lot needs to be done. Economic, social and political reforms are to be made. Everybody needs to be aware and have mutual understandings. Balanced economy and similar ideology is must for that. European Union on that manner has been exemplary. And it is absolutely possible, that such coalitions be made throughout the world.

For me, I believe world unity is imminent and is just a matter of time. And all I am, is catalytic about it, for the sun is dying, and we need to find the way to survive it.
